Before discussing what allergen removal is, let us have a quick look on what allergies are. Allergies are exaggerated reactions in our immune system to things that are generally not harmful to us. These exaggerated reactions are caused by allergens. There are different kinds of allergens. The most common ones include: perfumes, pollen, plants, animal parasites, and dust. Waste and mold from dust are two of the common examples of allergens.
One of the biggest collectors of dust is the carpet. Pet dander, dust mites, and mold spores gather carpet fibers over time. Carpets have more than one hundred times more allergens than you can find in hard flooring. Although carpets can hold the allergens, movement can cause them to break out into the air. When allergens break out into the air, they hover for hours before they settle back to the carpet so that makes the carpet as one of the hot spots for allergen removal.
